Surroundings & Recreation
The atmosphere and setting of the Spa Hotel Dvořák promises rest and relaxation, peace and tranquillity.
Carlsbad’s uniqueness lies in its famous spas and in its rich history. The city is home to many sights and attractions, museum, art galleries, historic spa buildings, the famous drinking colonnades, lookout towers and spectacular views.
The largest and most popular promenade is the Mill Colonnade. The Mill Colonnade, built in the years 1871–1881 by the architect Josef Zitek, house 5 mineral springs. The building is supported by 124 Corinth-style columns and features an orchestra pit for the spa orchestra as well as interesting allegoric depictions.
The Thermal Spring Colonnade hides the oldest and most famous of Carlsbad’s springs. The 1960s-era building houses a geyser of hot mineral water and several other healing springs.
The most important religious building in Carlsbad is the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, built by the famous architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer. This baroque church was erected on the site of an earlier gothic building. Services are held daily.
Especially worth seeing is the St. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Krále Jiřího Street with its golden domed roof.
The most beautiful view of the city can be had from the Diana outlook tower.
These and many more wonderful sights and important places await you during your stay in Carlsbad.

Turn right towards the tennis courts and the bus stop “Karlovy Vary Brezova”.
Tennis – The first mention of tennis in Carlsbad is from the year 1897 when the first asphalt court was built on the present site of Spa VI. The court was used above all by the officers’ corps. In 1905, work was begun on the construction of the tennis courts in Gejzirpark using English construction technology. Club facilities were built in the years 1907–1908, ultimately resulting in one of Central Europe’s best-equipped tennis clubs.
